Concert for Peace

The concert will feature a performance by the winning groups of Vis a Vis 2019, held in Ghana: Super Opong Stars (formerly known as Kyekyeku & Ghanalogue Highlife) and FRA! in order to support the promotion in Ghana of these groups that will already tour the stages of renowned Spanish summer festivals in 2019 for having been selected by the producers to win the contest. These two groups will be accompanied on stage by Gyedu Blay Ambolley, musician, songwriter, producer, songwriter and a reference in the highlife, the powerful and vibrant musical style of Ghana. He was the first Ghanaian musician to formally incorporate forms of rap into local highlife rhythms and is considered the creator of the simigwa musical genre.
The cancellation due to the COVID19 pandemic of the 2020 edition of the Vis a Vis program, and the recent cancellation of the planned concert of the Super Opong Stars group within the framework of the WOMAD Las Palmas de Gran Canaria festival, as well as international mobility restrictions, They motivate Casa Africa to hold a concert in the country of origin and residence of these groups.
The Peace Concert will take place on December 3 in the city of Accra, in the run-up to the elections, in order to sensitize society, especially young people, who are a significant percentage of Ghanaian society. Through music, a call will be made for peace, calm and refrain from any activity that may cause unnecessary tension and political conflict in a country that has already given the world several lessons in democratic culture: Ghana has had elections and transitions of relatively peaceful government since the country became a multi-party democracy in 1992.
On December 5, two days before Ghanaians go to the polls to vote in the general elections, the concert will be broadcast through Casa África's social networks: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram.: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, e Instagram.
The groups that will perform at the concert are:
