The Diplomatic School, created in 1942, is a higher education Centre dependent on the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, has training of specialists via courses as one of its commitments, which is why it organises this Seminar on Sub-Saharan Africa that will be held at its installations (Paseo de Juan XXIII,5. 28040 Madrid) from the 23rd to 27th April  2012. 

Among the planned lectures in the  programme, we find that of Casa África's General Director, Mr. Santiago Martínez-Caro and the General Secretary of this same institution, Mr. Luis Padilla Macabeo.

MONDAY 23RD APRIL 

  • 18:00 – 19:30: Public and economic diplomacy: the case of Africa
    Speaker: Santiago Martínez-Caro, Casa África's General Director

TUESDAY 24TH APRIL 

  • 17:00 – 18:30: Plan Africa and the Spanish PEX priorities for the continent. Canary Islands, logistics platform for Western Africa.
    Speakers: Ambassador Antonio Sánchez Benedito and Luis Padilla Macabeo, Casa África's General Secretary
  • 19:00 – 20:00: Talk on Plan Africa and the Canary Islands

WEDNESDAY 25TH APRIL 

  • 17:00 – 18:30: Monograph of countries: Senegal
    Speaker: Aicha Wane, from the Embassy of Senegal
  • 18:30 – 20:00: Monograph of countries: South Africa
    Speaker: Ambassador of South Africa

THURSDAY 26TH APRIL 

  • 17:00-18:30: Security and migrations.
    Speaker: Mbuyi Kabunda
  • 18:30 – 20:00: Economic Outlook for Africa
    Speaker: Joan Canals
