Ten women´s business projects

Entrepreneurial women in Casa África

Entrepreneurial women in Casa África

The designs by Tina Kpan (Liberia), the mosquito nets by Leticia Klemens (Mozambique), Eva Ntseoane´s (South Africa) poultry farm, and the natural shea-based cosmetics by Mame Khary Diene (Senegal) are some of the businesses that received awards today during the last session of the businesswomen´s negotiation workshop organised by the Senegalese NGO Femmes Africa Solidarité (FAS) and the IE Business School in Casa África. The workshop, which also counted on the involvement of the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo (Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation) and Casa África, trained female entrepreneurs from Liberia, South Africa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mozambique, Senegal and Rwanda.

At the end of the event, a jury (in which Casa África was also involved) selected ten entrepreneurs and their corresponding business plans so they may participate in a panel of investors which will take place this fall in Mozambique and that will bring together risk capital entities as well as European and African bankers.

Designed and led by the IE Business School´s Centre for Diversity and by FAS, through the Pan-African Centre for Gender, Peace and Development, the objective of this initiative is to provide participants with the best negotiation practices so they may obtain the best agreements for their businesses, as well as to provide them with tools for presenting their business plans to potential investors and institutions in a professional manner.
