The general director of Casa África, Ricardo Martínez Vázquez, participated in Pretoria (South Africa) in the presentation of the first ten business plans designed by female entrepreneurs from African nations in post-conflict situations. The general director participated in the presentation of these plans before investment experts as part of the agenda of his official trip to South Africa, which ends today and has included meetings with institutions such as the Desmond Tutu Foundation, the African World Heritage Foundation (AWHF), the Nirox Foundation, and the South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA).

Just like the entire programme that it is part of, the activity was organised by Femmes Africa Solidarité (FAS), the Pan African Centre for Gender, Peace and Development (PAC), the Madrid Instituto de Empresa, the Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional al Desarrollo (Spanish Agency of International Cooperation for Development) and Casa África, and it was presided by Graça Machel, the president of the Foundation for Community Development (FCD) and the wife of former African president Nelson Mandela.

Specialists from the private sector, social entrepreneurs and philanthropists formed part of the audience to whom these projects were presented, whose sustainability and social impact were analysed in order to obtain the necessary investment so as to set them into motion.

This initiative forms part of the Women Led Business programme, and began with 24 participants from countries such as Liberia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mozambique and Rwanda. The participants received training in management and various aspects related to their businesses in Madrid, Geneva, Dakar and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where Casa África was one of the programme´s headquarters where the participants received training for presenting their business plans.
