Casa África organises an information day on the tenders and projects of the African Development Bank (AfDB) in the areas of water and sanitation. This session will take place during the international meeting  Africagua Canarias next Thursday, 15th November, in Fuerteventura, and Friday 16th November at the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of  Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The Chief Financial Officer for the Department of Water and Sanitation of the institution, Mercuria Assefaw, will be in charge of reporting on the opportunities that this field offers to Canary Island companies.

Africagua Canarias is a meeting point for international businesses with the topic of alternative energy sources associated to water. Africagua Canarias' main aim is to report on the opportunities presented by the African continent for projects associated to water, as well as putting into contact companies from different areas, showing the Canary Islands potential in this matter. Among the guests are several energy ministers from neighbouring African countries and international organisations among which we find the AfDB, the European Commission, the World Bank, United Nations and national African agencies in the sector. One of the best represented countries will be Morocco, from where will come, through collaboration with Casa África, officials from the Official Agency for Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE), the National Agency for the Development of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ADEREE) and the Society for Energy Investments (SIE). The three agencies will present their portfolios of projects and public tenders on the morning of the15th at 12:00, during the block of conferences called Morocco, opportunities for collaboration in the water and renewable energy sector.

On the other hand, the information day in Tenerife, carried out with the collaboration of the External Action Area of the Cabildo of Tenerife and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Santa Cruz de Tenerife will put into contact entrepreneurs that are interested in the AfDB projects with this entity's representative. The session fulfils Casa África's objective of periodically informing businessmen on business and investment opportunities on the different sectors of African countries.
