The designer María Mía, in charge of the exclusive women's prêt-à-porter brand of the same name, will take part in the forthcoming edition of the Ghana Fashion and Design Week thanks to the collaboration of Casa África and the development programme for the textile industry Gran Canaria Moda Cálida, which is organised by Gran Canaria's Council.

This agreement, which has been made by both institutions for the third year in a row, in previous editions made possible the presentations of collections from the South African Dax Martins and the Senegalese Adama Paris in Spain and of the Spanish designer Juan Roga at Dakar Fashion Week.

The designer confessed to being "touched" with the opportunity to show her new collection on the African continent  and will leave for Ghana tomorrow Wednesday. At a meeting with the media held at Casa África, and which was attended by Casa África's General Secretary, Luis Padilla, and the Councillor for Industry, Trade and Crafts from Gran Canaria's Council,  Juan Domínguez, the designer admitted to being excited about seeing how her work will be received on a catwalk like the African one.

On the Ghanaian catwalk, which will show work from designers from all over the world, María Mía will display twelve pieces from her new collection in an initiative that could open the doors to a new market with many opportunities.
